Resident, Firefighter Hospitalized After Lower Southampton Fire

A resident and a firefighter were hospitalized following a house fire in Lower Southampton early Monday morning, authorities said.

Crews had difficulties stretching water supply lines to the Acorn Road home as it was along the Neshaminy Creek, according to the Lower Southampton Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the 3 a.m. fire and protect neighboring homes from any damage, authorities said.

Several firefighters were treated at the scene by EMS for heat exhaustion, authorities said.

A firefighter and one of the residents were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The crews remained on the scene for several hours.
